KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 4

Cyclonic storm Jawad that started developing over central-west region of Bay of Bengal on Friday has moved slightly northwards. It now lays centered at 0530 hrs IST on Saturday, about 230 km southeast of Vishakhapatnam of India, 410 km south-southwest of Puri and 490 km south-southwest of Paradip (Odisha), India's Meteorological Department shared today.

According to the special bulletin issued by Meteorological Forecasting Division of Nepal this morning, though this storm may not cause huge changes in the weather in Nepal, the indirect influence may be witnessed from Saturday night in a few regions of Province 1, 2 and Bagmati Province.

Weather in these three provinces will be partially to generally cloudy while the high mountainous and hilly regions may also witness light snowfall, one or two places may also receive light rainfall, the division said.

This weather system will gradually weaken from Monday.

There is also another low pressure system developing from the west which will have its influence on weather from Sunday.

This low pressure system will have its effects on the weather in Sudur Pashchim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki Provinces on Sunday.

The effect will gradually shift across the country on Monday and will bring light to medium rainfall in some places and light snowfall in high regions on Monday.

High regions of Sudur Pashchim, Karnali and Gandaki Provinces can witness heavy snowfall on Sunday night till the Monday noon due to the changes which will start to weaken from Monday night.

People who are mountaineering and travelling through air have been requested to take adequate precautions.
