Birgunj, October 16:

A gang of armed dacoits abducted one Amrit Ghimire, 19, from Shankarsaraiya VDC of Parsa district last night, police said. Two civilians were injured while resisting the dacoits. The dacoits had come to loot Rewati Ghimire’s house and they abducted Rewati’s son, Amrit, Police Inspector Gautam Mishra at the Shreepur Police Post said.

A team of police from the Paterwa police post in Sugauli has been deployed to search Amrit, the Parsa district police office said, adding that Sudan Dhungana, 19, and Suryaraj Timilsina, 21, were injured when the dacoits fired at them when they tried to resist. Dhungana has sustained a bullet injury in the thigh while Timilsina has sustained a bullet injury in the stomach. While Timilsina is undergoing treatement at the Narayani sub-regional hospital, Dhungana has been sent to Kathmandu for treatment.
