Dacoits strike at 66 Siraha houses

Sarlahi, January 6:

Separate groups of armed dacoits looted cash and goods worth of over Rs 500, 000 from 66 households at Phulparasi and Laxmipur Sukchainas VDCs last night. Armed dacoits entered into the house of Ram Prasad Yadav, former chairman of the Phulparasi VDC, and looted jewellery worth Rs 10,000.

A group of around 25 dacoits looted gold and silver jewellery and Rs 9,000 in cash from house of one Bechan Rai, gold jewellery and clothing from house of Ram Sewak Rai, Rs 11,000 in cash, radio, watch and gold jewellery from Nagendra Rai and cash and goods from houses of Ram Datta Mahara, Lal Babu Rai, Jawaharlal Rai and Phekan Rai situated in ward number 4, Yadav added.

Similarly, Rs 10,000 was looted from the house of Raja Ram Rai at Phulparasi VDC-1. Others houses looted in ward number 1 includes those of Ganga Ram Rai, Gudar Rai, Rabindra Thakur, Bhola Thakur, Chandreshwor Thakur, Ramananda Raut and Suwal Mandal.

The dacoits also looted Rs 10,000 in cash, jewellery worth Rs 60,000 and clothes from the house of one Ambu Rai of Laxmipur Sukhchaina VDC-3. Also, houses of Laxman Rai, Binod Rai and Naresh Rai and 21 others were looted, victim Ambu Rai said.

SP of District Police Office, Sarlahi, Manohar Prasad Rimal said the details of the loot have not been received yet.
