KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 3
The Dahal-Nepal faction, a splinter group of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), has announced a general strike on Thursday.
The faction called for the strike following the swear-in of officials of constitutional bodies, bypassing parliament hearing, on Wednesday. It may be noted that the strike has been called a day before the Oli faction meets in a mass gathering on Friday.
Dahal-Nepal faction had filed a claim of legitimacy over NCP in the Election Commission on Tuesday and has been protesting against the dissolution of House of Representatives.
Prior to this, the group had called for and organised multiple mass protests and sit-ins across the country.
