KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 26
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has assured his party's supporters that his party would again emerge as a powerful force in the country.
Addressing a programme organised by the CPN-Maoist Centre in Banphikot, Rukum today, the PM said the government led by his party was doing effective work in favour of the country and the people.
"CPN-MC will emerge as a strong political force again. If our party becomes weak, republican system may be reversed," he warned. Stating that only the CPN-MC can save the country, PM Dahal said the current fight was do or die battle and all the Maoist forces that split from the mother party in the past should unite.
Some friends who had left the CPN-MC have joined the Socialist Front, Nepal. We are making positive efforts to unify our parties, Dahal said in reference to Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal joining the Socialist Front Nepal. PM Dahal told party supporters that they should not lose hope because the party would emerge as a strong outfit again.
The PM said he was visiting Rukum as per his plan to go to at least to one ward of all provinces and his campaign had raised hope of transforming the CPN-MC. The PM said that during people's war, the CPN-MC had launched a popular revolution and now his party was fighting for a socialist revolution.
Stating that regressive forces were rearing their heads now, the PM said he was working from both the government and the front to foil the attempts of regressive forces. "The onus of saving the agenda of change is on us," he said.
PM Dahal said that it was because of the well crafted policy of his party that his government got almost 100 per cent votes in the House of Representatives during the confidence vote. The PM said that the world was witnessing big events and it was necessary for Nepal to pursue a balanced foreign policy and to stay away from polarisation between powerful countries.
The PM said the government's move to address the problems faced by usury victims had increased the party's popularity in Madhes.
The PM also said the government addressed the problems of thousands of eligible citizens who were deprived of citizenship.
He also said that the government was working effectively to ensure good governance.
