Damauli Dialysis Centre proved divine for kidney patients
DAMAULI: As many as 16 kidney patients have received dialysis services at the Damauli Hospital since the service began 15 days ago.
The Hospital in Tanahaun district headquarters had launched the service with a technical support from the Health Care Foundation.
Nephrologist Dr. Rishi Kafle is leading the seven-member team to serve the patients at the Hospital.
The Centre charges Rs 3,500 for one-time dialysis.
According to the Centre Accountant, Prem Singh Gurung, kidney patients from the adjoining districts have been receiving the service from November 18.
Many cases from the National Kidney Treatment Centre in Banasthali of Kathmandu have been referring cases to Damauli as it has been appropriate for the patients from that region.
Padma Aale (45), of Bhadgaun, Byas Muncipality-1 said she is feeling relief after the Centre was established in Damauli.
Philanthropist Manju Upadhaya, a native of Tahanaun, currently living in Bangkok of Thailand, donated Rs 10 million for the construction of Centre in memory of her late husband Satrughna Upadhyaya.
