TULSIPUR: Police here in Dang on Tuesday reportedly arrested a man in possession of explosive materials.

The arrested has been identified as Om Prakash Pun (33) of Chhilikot in Bijauri-9 in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police deployed from the Dang District Police Office had raided the house of Om Prakash Pun in Bijauri-9 in the district and seized 40 sets of detonators.

Pun has been taken under control for further action, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhiraj Pratap Singh informed.

Likewise, police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping a girl and issuing a death threat to her.

Police identified the alleged rapist as Dhan Bahadur Pun (33) of Chhilikot, in Bijauri-9.

According to police, Dhan Bahadur had threatened the girl before he  raped her at gunpoint and fled the scene, on 22 June, this year.

Police nabbed him from Lamahi, said SP Singh.
