At least 22 samples among the 197 swab samples that had been tested for COVID-19 through PCR test at the COVID-19 Hospital in district headquarter Gaur Hospital in the last 24 hours came out positive.

According to the data made available by the District Administration Office, prior to the implementation of COVID-19 lockdown measures, the positivity rate which was 80 percent has plummeted to 13 percent following the two-week lockdown imposed in the district.

Today, 11 COVID-19 patients were discharged while currently there are 676 active cases of the infection in the district, informed Chief District Official Indradev Yadav.

Yadav shared that in the last 24 hours, five patients who were natives of the district succumbed to the infection while adding that although the cases are declining fluctuation in number of daily reported fatalities is worrisome.
