The deep boring system has brought happiness to the locals at Kumyak Rural Municipality in Panchthar.

The residents of the rural municipality had moved from one place to another after the water crisis hit them hardr. But deep boring has elated the locals after the province government succeded in extracting underground water. The underground water was extracted through the boring system within two weeks at Uteshe, Dumse and Malliday of the rural municipality.

Chairman of the rural municipality Jaya Bahadur Chemjong said the rural municipality had taken the responsibility of distributing water to every household. The province government has assisted with one crore rupees.

Almost all the villages of the rural municipality looked deserted after villagers shifted to different places due to shortage of water.  According to statistics, around 20 to 30 households were shifting to other places every year.

Chemjong said the people who had shifted earlier would return to the villages as the water crisis was resolved.

A local, Dil Kumari Sambahamphe of the rural municipality, said that the painful days of villagers had gone as the machine was taking out underground water.
