Dengue cases come down in Makawanpur
HETAUDA: The number of dengue infected people in Hetauda is at a decreasing trend, weeks after the mosquito-borne disease hit the area.
According to District Health Office, Makawanpur, as many as 250 cases of dengue were detected in the district so far. Out of this, 190 patients have recovered from the disease and sent back home while 60 others continue their treatment at Hetauda Hospital, informed chief of Health Division at Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, Supendra Karki.
Karki also noted that the disease was taken under control due to the efforts of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis which successfully launched the ‘search and destroy’ programme with support from other entities. Despite improved conditions, everybody must be aware of the nature of dengue infection and its prevention measures, advised Karki.
Currently, the infection is being treated free of cost by the District Health Office.
The control measures were also carried out by other health entities under the purview of Province 3. Ministry of Social Development, Health Directorate, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, District Health Office, and Medical Association of Makawanpur are still continuing their programmes to control mosquitoes and dengue infection.
