Hundreds of development plans worth billions of rupees for Lamjung have failed to enter the execution phase for want of expenditure order from the ministries concerned.

Some 145 and 91 development plans were selected for the district this fiscal by the federal and provincial governments respectively. The total budget for the projects stands somewhere over Rs 7.52 billion.

Forty-one of the projects are related to the ministry of drinking Water, 27 to the energy, hydropower and irrigation ministry and 22 to the ministry of physical infrastructure and transport of the federal government, 84 are related to the Physical Infrastructure and Development ministry of the provincial government.

Lawmaker Dev Prasad Gurung said the ministries concerned would issue expenditure order soon.
