Development projects in priority, says PM
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that he would monitor development projects keeping it in his priority.
During an inspection of Nepalgunj-based under-construction Sikta irrigation project in Banke district on Saturday, PM Dahal directed the construction team to complete it before the stipulated time.
Saying that the Sikta project had been operated with Nepal's own investment, technology and ownership, Dahal said, "Complete the work before the stipulated time in coordination with people".
Mentioning to honour excellent government employees, Dahal also focused on healthy competition.
The CPN Maoist Centre Chairperson also made clear that the government has put Constitution amendment, development projects and national consensus in its priority.
During the inspection, Dahal was briefed about the work progress of the project, of which construction had begun 10 years ago. It has been said that about half of the work has been completed.
Former Finance Minister Barshama Pun among others had also inspected the project with PM Dahal today.
The project would have a capacity of irrigating 42,000 hectare land after the construction.
