‘Development takes time’

Hetauda, May 31

Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel today said that the provincial government did not have a magic wand to carry out development work overnight.

Responding to queries by provincial lawmakers over the policies and programmes presented at the Provincial Assembly today, Poudel said his government did not have a magic wand to usher in development and prosperity overnight. “Fifteen months have passed since the provincial government started its work. Offices of the provincial government started functioning just five months ago. Before that, offices faced shortage of staff. Therefore, it is impractical to say that development work did not take place,” Poudel said.

Poudel urged lawmakers to be clear about their responsibility and the way the three tiers of the government function.  He also requested lawmakers to go through the constitution and discharge their duties in line with the spirit of the constitution.

The Provincial Assembly today passed the government’s policies and programmes with majority.
