DAMAULI, FEBRUARY 27

Devotees thronged the popular religious and tourist site of Chhabdi Barahi temple in Byas Municipality, Tanahun, today.

According to priest Prem Bahadur Ale, more than 10,000 people visited the temple and offered prayers. "We had a hard time managing the crowd of devotees at the temple," said priest Ale. Devotees as far as from Tanahun, Lamjung, Gorkha, Kaski, and Chitwan, come to offer prayers at the temple.

Chhabdi Barahi Temple Development Committee former vice-chair Him Bahadur Ranabhat said that devotees mostly visited the temple on Saturdays, during Purnima and Panchami.

Devotees believe that offering prayers at the temple will fulfil their wishes.

Byas Municipality Ward 14 Chair Kajiman Shrestha said that the number of people visiting the temple had increased this year. "People visit the temple and offer prayers there thinking that doing so will help their wishes come true," said Kamala Kumal.
