Dhakal elected Chair of Nepal Renewable Energy Confederation

DHULIKHEL, KAVRE: The first annual general meeting of the Nepal Renewable Energy Confederation has elected a new working committee under the leadership of Guna Raj Dhakal.

Other office-bearers elected include Vice-chairperson Uttam Sitaula, General Secretary Padma Dulal and Treasurer Hasta Pandit.

Keshav Raj Khanal, Krishna Prasad Devkota, Bisworaj Karki, Gokul Gautam, Tej Narayan Thakur, Rishab Raj Acharya and Krishna Prasad Parajuli were also elected in the meeting.

Inaugurating the general assembly, former minister and Confederation adviser Ganesh Saha has said that Nepal has huge potentials of renewable energy and the agencies concerned should play crucial role in its utilisation.

Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) Director Nawaraj Dhakal said that they would work in collaboration with the federal, provincial and local governments for the promotion of alternative energy.

Likewisem former Secretary at the Ministry of Energy Balananda Poudel pointed out the crucial role of the Confederation in enabling environment for collaboration with local governments being focused on mixed energy technology.
