KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 10
Dhankuta police apprehended a 67-year-old man on charges of rape on Saturday afternoon.
The arrested individual has been identified as Rangalal Tamang, a resident of Pakhribas Municipality-8 in the district.
Tamang's arrest followed a report lodged against him, accusing him of threatening and subsequently sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl by taking her into his room. A team of police officers, dispatched from the District Police Office, acted promptly upon receiving the complaint, leading to Tamang's immediate arrest.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing, police said.
