Dhanusha-5 seat vacated
Kathmandu, July 23:
Acting chairman of the Constituent Assembly Kul Bahadur Gurung today informed the House that Constituency-5 of Dhanusha district has been automatically vacated since Nepali Congress CA member Dr Ram Baran Yadav, who won the CA election from the constituency, has been elected president.
According to Article 36 (b) and its clause 4 of the constitution, a constituency will be automatically vacated if a CA member is president or vice-president.
Today’s House session also passed the first amendment to the interim working procedure of the CA. A proposal to this effect was floated by Maoist CA member Dinanath Sharma and seconded by NC and UML CA members Laxman Prasad Ghimire and Ramchandra Jha. The next CA meeting is scheduled for tomorrow and it will elect CA chairman.
