KATHMANDU: A youth in Dharan of Sunsari has succumbed to knife injuries on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Bhakta Rai aka Sainla (25) of Ganatantra Basti of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-15, informed the Dharan Area Police Office.

Police said a gang of five youth had stabbed Rai during an altercation this morning.

Rai had breathed his last while being treated at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Meanwhile, two youth identified as Shukra Rai and Prajjwol Rai were also injured in the incident. They are being treated at the same hospital under the supervision of police.

Rajan Pariyar, Saroj Pariyar and Bibek Bhujel of Lalit Tol, Dharan-15 have been held in connection with their alleged involvement in the fighting.
