BHAKTAPUR: Direct bus service from Bhaktapur to Pokhara has started operation from today.

Mayor of Suryabinayak Municipality, Basudev Thapa, inaugurated the bus service and welcomed passengers including two foreign nationals travelling to Pokhara.

On the occasion, Mayor Thapa said that the municipality was going to develop Suryabinayak area of Bhaktapur as a tourism destination.

He further said that the operation of bus service from Bhaktapur to Pokhara would further boost tourism development at a time when the municipality has brought a programme for developing Suryabinayak as a religious and cultural tourism site.

Mayor Thapa said that the municipality was ready to move ahead joining hands with tourism entrepreneurs of the area for tourism development.

Byas Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd has, for the first time, brought the direct bus service from Bhaktapur to Pokhara into operation.

Director of Byas Travel and Tours, Deepak Bhattarai, said that they have started the bus service with two buses in the starting phase.

The bus fare from Bhaktapur to Pokhara has been determined Rs 800. The bus has the facility of a toilet and Wi-Fi.
