Discussion to upgrade Hetauda Hospital starts
- Contractor company warned against not completing construction within the deadline

Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel today started a discussion on construction and upgradation of Hetauda Hospital, which the province government is planning to develop as Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences, in Hetauda.
CM Poudel held the discussion with Social Development Minister Yuba Raj Dulal, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Hari Bahadur Mahat and Building Technology Research Training Centre Chief Sudip Acharya, among others, about the building at Hetauda Hospital.
He warned the concerned contractor company to complete the construction within the stipulated time of two years. CM Poudel vowed that he would be playing a critical role in forging necessary coordination among stakeholders. He informed participants that province government was preparing to upgrade Hetauda Hospital as Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences and the government was drafting plans, policies and bills accordingly.
He said the academy would have at least 300 beds and the construction would be completed within two years. “Even if it is a temporary construction, the health facility should start operation besides enrolling students for medical education within the stipulated time,” said CM Poudel.
Likewise, the chief minister also held discussion on establishing intensive care unit and dialysis unit. He further vowed to allot necessary budget jointly by the province government and sub-metropolitan city for timely upgradation of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Social Development Minister Yuba Raj Dulal directed contractors not to delay infrastructure development. He vowed to create a congenial atmosphere during the construction phase.
Earlier, the contractor had signed an agreement to construct a 200-bed hospital building at a cost of Rs 281 million. The building is under construction at present and it is expected to be completed by 19 May 2020. The province government has allotted Rs 20 million to upgrade the hospital into an academy.
