Disease claims eight in a week

A respiratory disease that broke out in two VDCs of Achham district has claimed eight lives within a week while a child has died of measles. According to the locals, four persons each from Kuntibandali and Janalibandali Village Development Committees have died of the disease. Meanwhile, Pankaj Bishwakarma 4, of Kalodada VDC has died of measles. Due to lack of medicines and health workers, the disease is spreading fast in the other VDCs of the district.
However, chief of the District Public Health Office Nandalal Bohara denied any death due to the disease.
