Diseased, disdained children from Bajura get support for medical treatment

KATHMANDU: Living with a mysterious disease that gives disdain, two children had fought not only against the disease but also fought to hold their mental health stigma.

Govindra Sarki (15) and Ramlal Sarki (10), sons of Raghu Sarki, a resident of Kolti area in Budhinanda Municipality-2, Bajura have got opportunity for medical treatment after THT Online and The Himalayan Times published the news about their sufferings under poverty.

In addition to the support provided by the Nepal Healthcare Equipment Development Foundation (NHEDF),  the Joining Hands for Change is now bearing their medical expenses.

Lawmaker at the House of Representatives, Lal Bahadur Thapa visited the poor patients and their parents, and handed over the collected amount of Rs 215,000. He further committed to providing support for the treatment. Lawmaker Thapa thanked all the supporters who helped the poor children.

Govindra’s treatment is ongoing in Nepal Medical College in Kathmanduwhere  surgeons and doctors specialised in orthopaedic and dermatology are checking on his conditions and waiting for the pathological lab report.

Govindra has developed pus in his infected legs while Ram Lal who has been suffering from a disease since his birth, is recommended to undergo the exstrophy repair surgery.
