Diseases affect flood-hit villagers

Flood-hit people of a dozen village development committees of Nawalparasi district have been suffering from a number of diseases.

Diarrhoea, viral fever, whooping cough, typhoid and skin ailments have affected flood-hit Somani, Kudia, Trivenisusta, Rampur Khadauna, Sanai, Narsahi, Paklihawa, Bhujahawa, Rampurwa, Rupauli and other village development committees. Meanwhile, drugs are in short supply in the health post based in Rampur Khadauna VDC. Following the shortage, patients have been visiting border market Maharajgunj of India for treatment, Secretary of Khadauna village development committee Raj Kumar Das Patanwar said. It is learnt that villagers started falling ill after flood inundated Rampur Khadauna village. Among them children and elderly are hit hard.
