Dismissed Tanahun public offices still operational

TANAHUN: Government offices supposed to terminate operations after six months from implementation of Local Government Operation Act-2074 are still functional in Tanahun district.

The offices which are considered defunct since Wednesday carried out regular operations today.

The provisions of the Act require transfer of assets, liabilities and budget of the now defunct offices to local level. However, prevailing uncertainty among stake holders has hindered the process.

According to the employees of the dismissed offices, although their respective offices have turned inoperative, they are bound to carry out daily activities in absence of centre-issued-circulars.

Likewise, the District Administration Office said that though employees were deputed to all 10 local levels in the district, some of them are carrying out daily tasks of the dismissed offices.
