Dog plays super sleuth

SURKHET: Criminals involved in the murder of person were nabbed with the help of a dog in Surkhet recently. Dil Bahadur Nepali, a resident of Basi-4 of Dailekh was killed, while he was heading to Surkhet from Nepalgunj with his wife on 31 May.

The couple had been attacked at Mangalgadi Chowk while trying to find a shelter there at 11.30 pm. Police had been investigating into the case since then.

According Sita, wife of the deceased, one of the criminal had brought with him a dog. A police team searched for the dog and found it in Rawal hotel located at Latikoili Chowk. The team also found that the dog mostly followed local Chakra Bahadur Raut.

“We have detained Chakra Bahadur Rawal, who has owned up the murder,” police inspector Bishnu Soti said, adding that Nirajan Buda alias Jeevan and Dilipsingh Thakuri were also detained in connection to the incident. The accused were made public in the District Police Office on Monday.

Arjun Buda, the brain behind the murder, however has been absconding. SP Chhabilal Joshi said that the accused had murdered Nepali with the motive loot.

The victim’s wife Sita complained that the murderers had misbehaved with her after killing her husband. Sita along with her children is being taken care of by an organisation called Awaj.
