DOLAKHA: A local of Lapilang VDC-7 of Dolakha district died after being swept away by the local Bhadrawati River on Friday.

Chandra Bahadur Thami (35)had gone missing since being swept away yesterday and he was found dead in Gumu River at Arubote in the same VDC.

Thami was returning home on Friday evening after planting paddy in his field when the incident took place, according to Police Inspector Binod Kumar Sunuwar of the District Police Office.

Meanwhile, 33 household of the same VDC have been forced to move to safer locations as a result of rising probability of landslide and floods.

Families from Dorpa, Thangbaru, Khatrigaon, Gujarpa among others have left their homes for safety.
