Don’t agitate till CA poll: Mahat

Kavre, January 27:

Finance minister Dr Ram Saran Mahat today appealed to people not to stage bandhs, strikes or commit acts of vandalism until the election to the constituent assembly (CA).

Dr Mahat conceded that the ongoing violent agitation in the Terai was increasing the risk of disrupting communal harmony in the country.

Addressing the eighth annual general meeting of the Self-reliant Vegetable Producers’ Cooperative at Devbhumi VDC, Dr Mahat said, “Since the ongoing agitation is likely to disrupt the CA poll, I urge everyone not to stage agitations till mid-June.”

Dr Mahat urged the agitating forces to stage their agitation after the CA poll. “The eight parties should bear in mind that the agitation also affects loktantra,” Dr Mahat said.
