Don’t obstruct project: Minister

Kathmandu, January 11:

Minister for Physical Planning and Construction, Gopal Man Shrestha today appealed the local people not to create obstruction on construction of Melamchi Drinking Water Project.

He told this to the residents of Melamchi and adjoining area, who had attended today’s Parliamentary Environment Committee meeting to hold discussion with the officials of the project, government officials and the Members of the Parliament.

“Mostly those living below the poverty line are facing big drinking water problem, so do not create obstruction, because the contractors would claim a lot of money in compensation when the project work is obstructed,” said the Shrestha. He said the construction work has stopped in the core area.
