Don’t interfere in our internal affairs: Nepal

Gaighat, November 27

CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal today accused India of trying to interfere in Nepal’s internal affairs.

Speaking at a programme in Gaighat, the district headquarters of Udaypur, Nepal said, “India is our neighbour but what it is doing is clear to everyone as it is creating instability in this tiny country by provoking a certain community.”

“The decision on the number of provinces to be formed in the Tarai or elsewhere is the country’s internal matter and we don’t want suggestions of any of our neighbours on the issue,” Nepal said, adding that the issue of federal boundaries would be resolved by the federal commission.

On a different note, Nepal, who had arrived in Gaighat to attend a meeting and inspect the Dharan-Khurkot road, also stressed the need for building an alternative highway. “The East-West Highway is always important but the agitators have halted transport movement on the highway,” he argued.
