Dozen hurt in school row
RAUTAHAT: Ten persons were hurt last evening in a clash over the election of the management committee of a school in Bariyapur area.
Activists of the CPN-UML claimed that Nepali Congress cadres attacked them saying that only UML supporters were elected as management committee officials in Bhagwati Primary School at Chilmilia in an unfair manner. The election was held on January 11. UML cadres claimed that some three dozen NC supporters charged them with canes.
Police said Rekha Bhagat, Jagadish Bhagat, Birendra Bhagat, Phegan Bhagat and Rampujan Bhagat were among the hurt. Gaur Hospital referred critically injured Birendra, Phegan and Rampujan to Narayani Sub-regional Hospital for further treatment.
