A dozen NSP-N Gorkha leaders join CPN-MC

Kathmandu, October 29

Around a dozen leaders and cadres along with Naya Shakti Party-Nepal central council member Basu Pokharel joined the CPN-Maoist Centre today.

CPN-MC Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal welcomed them at a programme held in the capital city.

On the occasion, Dahal said that there was no alternative to the left alliance and the CPN-MC for development and prosperity of Gorkha district.

Dahal, claimed that Gorkha district was the base for the leftist force and only the CPN-MC had plans and programmes to give impetus to social and economic development of the district.

According to him, Naya Shakti Party-Nepal leader Baburam Bhattarai’s latest move to enter an electoral alliance with Nepali Congress would put Bhattarai and his party in jeopardy.

Pokharel after being welcomed to the CPN-MC explained,” There is no political future and prosperity for a country through fringe groups. I was earlier in CPN-MC and left it for NSP-N assuming that Bhattarai would do something notable. But the party’s significance itself is at stake.”

Pokharel is the candidate for House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency 5.

Also speaking at the programme, CPN-MC leader and candidate from Gorkha Constituency 2 Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that there was a trend of entering the CPN-MC from Naya Shakti Party-Nepal lately.
