Dozens of houses inundated in Nawalparasi

NAWALPARASI: Dozens of houses in Parasi Bazaar, the district headquarters of Nawalparasi, have been inundated due to incessant rainfall since yesterday night.

It has been learned that the bazaar area, buildings of District Administration Office, District Development Committee, District Police Office, District Hospital have been inundated after the flood water from the Jharahi River gushed into the human settlements.

According to the Chief District Officer Mahadev Pantha, most of the offices have been inundated after the river switched theĀ  direction of its flow and entered into the human settlements.

After the water entered into the human settlements, locals were left panic stricken and forced to flee to safer places.

Security personnel have been deployed to rescue the people.
