KC's team distributes medicines to FW hospitals
BAJURA: Medicines donated by a team led by veteran orthopaedic surgeon at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Dr Govinda KC, were handed over to local hospitals of the Far-Western Development Region here on Sunday.
Dr KC informed that that they responded to the medicine crunch at hospitals in the region.
The medicines were distributed to hospitals in Bajura, Bajhang, Baitadi, Doti, Achham and Darchula districts as per their needs, informed Sumana Shrestha, a team member.
Medical supplies worth Rs 1.5 million were collected from different cities including Kathmandu in three weeks aiming to ease the crunch caused due to the border blockade.
Dr Gunaraj Awasthi, Chief of the Baitadi District Health Office, stated that the aid brought by Dr KC’s team would help them treat the patients better.
Bajura DHO Chief Dr Mohan Nath opined that everyone should work independently and harmoniously in such a critical time.
The team had also distributed medicines in quake-hit districts after the earthquake struck Nepal on April 25.
