Dr Swarnim Wagle, vice-chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, has been re-elected to the House of Representatives from Tanahun Constituency-1.
According to the final vote count, Wagle secured 38,040 votes, defeating Govinda Bhattarai of the Nepali Congress, who received 16,231 votes.
Among other contenders, Bhagwati Neupane of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist) secured 5,830 votes, while Bidyanath Dhakal of the Nepali Communist Party received 2,393 votes.
A total of 68,129 votes were cast out of 126,882 registered voters in the constituency.
Wagle had first won the seat in the by-election, securing 34,911 votes, also defeating Bhattarai, who had received 20,122 votes.
