DAMAULI: A driver was killed and eight others sustained injuries after a speeding passenger bus hit the roadside wall and turned turtle on the road at Byas Municipality-2 of Tanahun district on Thursday night.

The bus was heading to Kathmandu from Beni of Myagdi district at the time of the incident near a bridge at Buldi.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Hari Kafle (35) of Bardibas in Mahottari district, according to the District Police Office, Tanahun. Critically injured in the incident, Kafle and

Tsering Ghale (30) of Shukla Gandaki Municipality-4 were taken to the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital from the Damuali-based Ratnahari Hospital.

Kafle, however, succumbed to injuries at around 11 pm yesterday, police said.

Other injured are admitted to the Ratnahari Hospital. They are said to be out of danger.
