Drivers draining project office of petro products
Lamjung, July 27:
Unlike in other parts of the nation, petroleum products are not in short supply in Lamjung district. Fuel is easily available here. But drivers of Mid-Marsyangdi Hydropower
Project office have been selling petroleum products meant for the project to the locals.
“We have been getting petroleum products easily as drivers of the MHEP have been selling fuel in nearby shops,” a driver said on condition of anonymity.
According to an eyewitness, drivers of the MHEP were found selling petroleum products in nearby shops. The eyewitness claimed that there was a nexus between high-ranking officials of the project and drivers. “I don’t know how MHEP drivers have been selling petroleum products in the market,” MHEP administrative officer Lok Prasad Nepal said. “Copper wires belonging to the MHEP are being stolen. We have reported the matter to police, to no avail,” he said. “I am not involved in such act, but do not know who is,” he said.
