LAHAN: Many drugs stores in various parts of the district including the district headquarters of Siraha have been found running without official registration.

Scores of drug stores and medical clinics in Kachanari, Bhagwanpur, Sukhipur, Nahara, Rigaul, Sitapur, Lagadigoth, Thadi, Inarwa and other areas are running illegally, according to the Drug Entrepreneurs Association Lahan.

To run drug stores requires approval from the Department of Drug Administration and registration at the Revenue Office too. However, only 525 drug stores in the district are running following the due process, according to President of the Association Shivanath Singh.

Around 1,000 drugs stores are supposedly running illegally, which has not only risked the lives of many people who depend on these stores but also deprived the state of revenue collection.

However, the concerned authority has not given any attention towards checking this thriving illegal business, lament the locals.
