Dry landslide at Siddababa obstructing vehicular movement along Siddhartha Highway

KATHMANDU: A dry landslide at Siddababa, along the Siddhartha Highway has obstructed vehicular movement since this afternoon, in Palpa district.

The five kilometres road stretch from lower Siddababa in Butwal and upper Siddababa in Palpa district is prone to landslides during monsoon and dry landslides during dry season.

Vehicles heading to Butwal from Palpa are stopped at Dovan while vehicles going to Palpa and other hilly districts are stopped at Golpark, in Butwal, according to police.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to open one way traffic movement along the highway.

Many people have lost their lives in tragic accidents along this deadly 5 kilometres stretch of road.

According to District Police Office Palpa, the road would resume its services within few hours.
