Duo held with fake Indian currencies in Birgunj

BIRGUNJ: Police in Birgunj paraded two people, who were arrested in possession of fake Indian currencies, on Wednesday.

Organising a press conference, the Parsa District Police Office made Chathu Baitha of Janakitole-3, Parsa and Shree Dev Giri of Birgunj-10 public after they were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Baitha with a bundle of thousand-rupee notes from Ghantaghar of the district. Based on Baitha's statement, police later arrested Giri for further investigation, SP Raju Babu Shrestha informed.

SP Shrestha also suspected that they might be involved in a bigger racket and police are redirecting their investigations.

Both Baitha and Giri have been taken to the Parsa DPO, SP Shrestha said.

Police also confiscated a motorbike (Na 16 Pa 2183), NRs. 25,000, two SIM cards and a mobile from the suspects.
