KATHAMANDU, FEBRUARY 15

As of now, the Election Commission of Nepal has printed and packaged ballot papers for 155 electoral constituencies across 67 districts.

The total number of ballot papers prepared so far stands at 19,124,000, all ready for dispatch. These ballots are designated for constituencies including Dolpa, Mugu, Kalikot, Humla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum (West), Salyan, Surkhet, Bajura, Achham, Bajhang, Doti, Dadeldhura, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Panchthar, Ilam, Tehrathum, Bhojpur, Okhaldhunga, Sunsari, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Dhankuta, Baglung, Gulmi, Jhapa, Gorkha, Myagdi, Parbat, Nawalparasi (Susta West), Morang, Udayapur, Mustang, Lamjung, Tanahu, Syangja, Bardiya, Rukum (East), Dang, Banke, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Pyuthan, Rupandehi, Rolpa, Manang, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Rasuwa, Sindhupalchowk, and several others.

By Saturday, ballot papers for 66 districts had been printed. Printing and packaging of 1.19 million ballots for the remaining 10 districts is still pending and is expected to be completed within a couple of days. The printing is being carried out at the Janak Education Materials Centre (JEMC).

In addition, 20,830,000 ballot papers for the proportional representation system have already been printed. Meanwhile, a total of 20,323,000 ballots are to be printed for the first-past-the-post system.

The Commission has also confirmed that ballot papers for 12 electoral constituencies in 10 districts of the Karnali Province have already been dispatched. These constituencies include Salyan, Rukum (West), Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, Kalikot, Jumla, Jajarkot, Dailekh, and Surkhet, according to Assistant Spokesperson Prakash Neupane.
