The Election Commission (EC) has announced the official schedule for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections set for March 5, 2026. The timeline covers both the first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional representation (PR) systems, with details published on the EC website and in the Nepal Gazette.

Under the FPTP system, nominations will be accepted on January 20, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm at Returning Offices, with the initial list of candidates published the same day from 5 pm to 7 pm.

The final candidate list will be released on January 23 between 1 pm and 3 pm, followed by distribution of election symbols from 4 pm to 7 pm.

For the PR system, political parties must apply between December 7 and 9, with the process starting on December 6. Parties must submit their closed lists on December 28 and 29. The final PR list will be announced on February 3, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Voting for both systems will take place nationwide on March 5, from 7 am to 5 pm, the EC confirmed.
