KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 4

Renowned mountain guides have continued the exploration of new routes in Nepal's mountains.

After scaling a virgin peak - Dhagpache - in the Langtang region, two Ecuador-born alpinists established a new vertical route on Ganchenpo peak at 6,378m.

Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director at 14 Peaks Expedition, said that Joshua Jarrin and Oswaldo (Ossy) Freire from Ecuador stood atop the summit of Ganchenpo peak at around 1:30 pm on November 3. The duo explored a vertical route on Ganchenpo just five days after they made the first ascent of Dhagpache (6,568m), he said.

Ossy told THT that they named the new route - thérapie par le froid/cold therapy. It was north face direct, 1000m, AI 4+ 90 degrees and TD / TD+, he shared.

Similarly, Marek Disman and Jakub Vlcek from Czech Republic successfully stood atop Tengi Ragi Tau (6,938m) in Rolwaling area discovering a new route to the summit point, said Chhang Dawa Sherpa, Expedition Director at Seven Summit Treks.

"We reached the summit point of the Rolwaling peak on October 31 exploring a new West Face route namely - Johnny's Route" said Marek after returning from the summit point.
