Ilam, September 6:

Eight people of Godak village, Ilam district, fell ill after eating contaminated food yesterday. According to a local resident Chudamani Ghimire, members of the Phuyal family - Laxmi Phuyal (18), Tika Phuyal (16), Arjun Phuyal (15) and Anju Phuyal (12) of Godak-7 — were among those who fell ill.

Tulasa Ghimire (25), Bibek Ghimire (12) and Bischika Ghimire (25), who had come

to the Phuyal household to celebrate Teej festival, also fell ill after eating contaminated food.

The eight showed symptoms like headache, dizziness and stomach-ache.

They were rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences as their condition did not improve even after treatment at a local health centre.
