JHAPA: An elderly citizen died after an elephant trampled him at Baniyani VDC in Jhapa on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Bhawani Prasad Ghimire, 70, of the VDC, said police. Locals had informed police after they saw the old man lying on the road near Dasarathpur Community Forest area. DPO Spokesperson Bhim Bahadur Dahal said the body has been taken to Mechi Zonal Hospital, Bhadrapur, for post mortem.
