SUNSARI: Election Commissioner Narendra Dahal on Sunday said that preparations for both the first and second phase of polls slated for November 26 and December 7 were over in Province 1.

Talking to mediapersons at Sunsari headquarters Inaruwa, Dahal stated that preparations for both phases of the polls were finished in Province 1. He said election fever had gripped almost all the districts in the eastern belt. He noted that the election code of the conduct was being complied with in all districts except Jhapa and Morang.

Dahal informed that the Election Commission had directed security heads of the 14 districts to provide security to the candidates and the entire election process. “I found parties and candidates abiding by the election code of conduct in Ilam, Panchthar, and other districts during my monitoring,” Dahal added.

Dahal urged the public and others to file complaints regarding the violation of the election code. “We have directed the concerned agencies to punish those who breach the code of conduct,” he said.
