Eleven suspension bridges constructed in Myagdi this year
BABIYACHAUR, MYAGDI: As many as 2,500 households have benefitted with the construction of 11 suspension bridges at various places in Myagdi district this year.
Construction of the bridges has not only eased travelling for the locals but has also helped promote tourism in these areas.
Among the 11 suspension bridges constructed in the district this year is the 365.8 metres long bridge at Raghuganga Rural Municipality-1. This is the longest suspension bridge in the country and was built at a total cost of Rs 27.9 million. The bridge was constructed by the District Technical Office (DTO), Myagdi.
Likewise, the 10 remaining bridges were constructed by the DTO, the Trail Bridge Support Unit (TBSU), SWAP, local levels, communities and local NGOs.
The total cost of these 10 bridges was Rs 300.4 million. A population of 14,546 belonging to 2,503 households have been benefitted by the construction of these bridges.
