End politics of threats, Poudel tells Maoists

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel today said that the Maoists should immediately stop threatening people and collecting donations.

Inaugurating the 22nd annual general meeting of Tanahun Chambers of Commerce and Industries in Damauli, he said, "Maoists should not collect donations and threaten people at a time when they have joined the government after reaching 23-point agreement with the government." Stressing the need to respect the 23-point agreement, he said, "As the government is implementing the agreement, all the stakeholders should also respect it."

Stating that the government has fulfilled most of demands of the agitating groups and forces in Tarai and agitation of the Janajatis, he said the demands which are yet to be fulfilled will be addressed after the CA polls. People have to play vital role to make the CA polls a success, he said.

NC central member Amarraj Kaini said the polls should be made a success at any rate. FNCCI chairman Chandiraj Dhakal, third vice charirman Ajad Shrestha, NC president Raghunath Poudel and CPN-UML secretary Prataplal Shrestha and CDO Kanshinath Marasini also spoke.
