End to impunity, corruption stressed for prosperity
BUTWAL: Speakers at a programme here in Butwal, have stressed the need for ending impunity and corruption to establish the lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
At the programme organised by Human Rights and Peace Society Nepal on the occasion of the 11th Republic Day on Tuesday, they opined that people's expectations would not be addressed without economic prosperity.
On the occasion, Province Assembly Member Bishnu Panthi asked one and all to make their orientation towards the direction of prosperity by quitting the perception of ruling and opposition parties.
Likewise, Chief Attorney of Province Government of Province No. 5, Thakur Prasad DC expressed his displeasure to the people's unmet expectations even after a decade of the establishment of republic. He said, now the focus should be on peace, good governance and economic prosperity.
NC leader Yubraj Giri, activist Harish Dhakal, former lawmaker Binod Pahadi, industrialist Khim Bahadur Hamal and others expressed their opinions on the human rights in the new context, roles of the civil society in the establishment of the republic and other issues.
