Endangered birds spotted in Badhaiya pond

BARDIYA: The Bird Conservation Nepal has said that an endangered species of sarus crane was spotted recently around Badhaiya pond in Bardiya district.

The birds were seen in course of cleaning the surrounding areas of the pond.

Bird conservationist Ram Bahadur Shahi said that the endangered birds were seen in the locality some five years after.

Sarus crane is one of the endangered birds in the world. The bird could be seen in Lumbini, Shuklaphanta and Bardiya.

Assistant Field Officer of the BCN, Pooja Gurung, said that out of 871 birds found in Nepal, 469 are found in Bardiya.
