UDAYAPUR: Ethnic fronts affiliated to the Unified CPN-Maoist have called a strike in Udayapur district on Tuesday. The fronts have insisted on the fulfillment of their “five-point” demand. The demands include establishing civilian supremacy, ensuring the right to self-determination and creation of states on ethnic lines.

Among other fronts, Kirant Rastriya Mukti Morcha, Magar Rastriya Mukti Morcha, Tharu Rastriya Mukti Morcha, Danuwar Rastriya Mukti Morcha and Tamang Rastriya Mukti Morcha are actively involved in stressing for the fulfillment of the demands.

Life in the district has been paralysed due to the strike.
